Montpellier Zoo is preparing an impressive summer program for 2024. Numerous free workshopsand fascinating conferences and fascinating exhibitions await you. Get ready for unforgettable family adventures in the heart of nature, under the Montpellier sun.
Guided tours with zoo staff
Want to know all the zoo’s secrets? Take part in guided tours led by the park’s experts. You’ll discover how the park works, its conservation projects, its commitment to species preservation and exclusive anecdotes about the animals.
Opening hours Monday to Friday at 9:30 am. Duration: 2 hours. All ages. Children accompanied by an adult.
Reading workshop
For younger children, reading workshops are a great way to learn about animals and nature. Children can enjoy stories while discovering various objects straight from the zoo.
Dates Wednesday, July 24 and 31, August 7 and 28 at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. Duration: 45 minutes. For children aged 3 to 6, accompanied by an adult.
Nature drawing workshop
Explore the art of naturalistic drawing as a family. You’ll learn about drawing techniques and their history, then apply them directly in the zoo.
Dates Wednesday, July 10 and August 21 at 10 a.m. Duration: 1h30-2h. For children aged 8 and over, accompanied by an adult.
Conference “Secrets of snakes
Want to learn more about snakes? Attend a captivating conference to discover the snake species in France and the zoo’s inventory protocol.
Dates Wednesday, July 17 and August 14 at 11:30 am. Duration: 1 hour. Ages 8 and up, accompanied by an adult.
À l’affût du sauvage” photo exhibition
Photography enthusiasts will be delighted to discover the zoo’s exhibition of breathtaking images by naturalist photographer Éric Médard.

Exploring the educational room
Enjoy an immersive stroll through the educational room, equipped with virtual reality headsets. A great opportunity to learn more and enjoy a unique experience.
The room is open when a member of staff is available. Capacity: up to 35 people.
Meeting points for animal handlers
Take part in daily discussions with animal caretakers. Find out about their jobs, their daily lives and the animals they care for.
- At 10:45 am at the cheetahs, enclosures 52 and 54
- 11 a.m. to the cassowaries
- 5pm at Les Rhinoceros
Please note that these are not shows, and may be cancelled in the event of bad weather or technical constraints.
Zoo open every day during vacations
During zone C vacations, the zoo is open every day. However, the zoo and the Lez reserve are subject to fire risk and may be closed in the event of high danger. Activities may therefore be cancelled.
